Not cowling covers the are the firewall just in front of the main gear wells. The cowlings are then in front of that.

Ah! the gun bay of Glacier Girl. The P-38F they recovered from Greenland and restored.

    Tamiya Schwalbe

I think they built 3 or 4 repros and at least one of them is a 2 seater. They used appropriate power modern jet engines in them, but otherwise they are supposed to be perfect replicas. Kind of like the FW190s that are flying these days.

    One Down One to Go

Works well! Aren't you going to have some dead dinos out front? If so the outboards would not neccessarily look like anything we have.

    Do-217!!

I get the dry fit part Warren. My Ju88 is a huge amount of dry fit with a bunch of sub assemblies. It is working well there and has been made a LOT more complex than the original kit had, but has been nothing major for correction, just me upgrading everything.

    Revell Ju88 A1 in 1/32 scale

Here is where you get the low down on how to mod and upgrade the main landing gear. Enjoy! OK, all caught up. (well mostly as I know the tail wheel well has paint in it) (Not happy with that paint either) That will be for another day though. Enjoy!

    Revell Ju88 A1 in 1/32 scale

Thanks Warren! I finally just sat down today and have gone through and finished getting all this put together for posting. I think that there is a bit more done on the kit than is shown here. Once I get into it fully things will be brought up to current. As there are so many pics this will...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I figure that Andy or Das Werk will do a really nice one that will be a better price here pretty soon. No rush or want on it at all. Just saying if they did one I would probably jump on it. I have picked up a couple of things recently. Trying to just get add ons for kit already in my stash a...

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I bit the bullet on the 1/16 Puma a while back. Should be coming in about any time. I am hoping Andy or Das Werk will do one of the U.S. halftracks in the larger scale. I know that years ago there was a restored half track that would run around Tulsa once in a while. Was in a hobby shop on...

    "Hootch Maid" Vietnam 1968

James, I am really sorry to hear about your mom and wife. I have some idea of how hard that is as years ago my wife had a stroke which disabled her in a weird way and then she ended up with cancer a few months later. Later on my dad ended up with Alzheimer's. He did very well up until about...

    Tamiya P38J

VERY NICE Paddy! I agree with you on the amount of detail that is there and how difficult it must be to get it together and correct. Eduard has really upped their game in recent years. The only problem I ever see with these tiny builds (not yours) is the paint. The smaller the build the more...

    Revell Ju88 A1 in 1/32 scale

Thanks Bob. I figured that little process out a long time ago when I was working on a limited run kit (before I came here) I really needed to thin down the sides of the fuselage a lot and get it consistent. I have a 1/32 B-25, B-24, and P-61 that I will use this process on with the tail to...

    Revell Ju88 A1 in 1/32 scale

Actually Bob you can see a whole lot of this as the openings are fairly large. Remember this is a 1/32 scale aircraft and it ends up being fairly large. Not gigantic like a B-17, but fairly large. Thus, while you don't necessarily notice things being missing as not many folks are familiar with...

Paddy should have been a watchmaker. Get out your 5X watchmaker's loupe, binocular microscope, and the high magnification optivisor. looking forward to seeing what you do with this Paddy.
